Strategic advisory: Educational material creation

Situation

  • Biotech wanted to better understand the patient journey, including referral patterns, for patients receiving CAR-T as well as key strategies for effective AE management, in order to develop educational materials

Task

  • Define educational gaps for the multidisciplinary teams that identify and care for patients on CAR-T, to obtain continuous feedback on experiences and perceptions of patients on CAR-T therapy and develop a greater understanding of the patient journey in general

Action

  • Pre-meeting surveys distributed to ~15 AHCP participants (APNs, PharmDs) to gather insights to shape agenda

  • Workshops at the live meeting allowed participants to share institutional experience
to compare how patients are evaluated, treated and managed post treatment

  • Virtual advisory board held 6 months after live meeting for advisor review/input of educational tools developed from live meeting recommendations

Result

  • Education on early partnership and conversations between referring healthcare providers
    and CAR-T institution key recommendation

  • Educational materials developed to help caregivers better prepare for AEs
